Christmas Wish List for SeaTri ..A New President for 2010
Dear Seattle Triathlon Club members,
I will be finishing up my term as President at the end of this month December, 2009. This is a opening for someone who is looking for an opportunity to stay connected with the triathlon community year round. Qualifications ? This position is not awarded based off of your race times.. I have been extremely fortunate these past 3 years to meet great athletes and fellow triathletes that I probably would never have had I not be associated with this club. In the past we have had Gordo Byrn http://www.slowtwitch.com/Interview/..._Byrn_169.html and his wife Monica come visit at one our meetings. We also had Nicole DeBoom and her husband Tim http://www.timdeboom.com/ visit us in Seattle on their tour to launch Nicole's new line of womens workout gear.http://www.skirtsports.com/ The Seattle Triathlon Club does a great job of keeping the triathlon community connected through this website. There is such a large number of athletes participating in this sport that the best way for us to find someone to workout with has become the internet. Now if you want to find someone who is doing the same race as you, or swims in your area on the specific day and time that fits into your schedule, you go to the website and make or read a post. This position of President is a great way for you to put your stamp on the triathlon community by sharing your ideas, time and love of this sport with others. You can contact me through this website or I will also be at Monday December 14th's meeting @ Rei, if you are interested in learning more. To all the great athletes, sponsors, race directors and guest speakers that I have come in contact with through this club..I say "thank you" for keeping me constantly awed , inspired, entertained, and still proud to say "I am a triathlete". Best wishes in the New Year 2010 and remember "We train in the rain" Leona Hollis Seattle Triathlon President 2006-2009 |
